1980Spring: Travel to Côte d’Ivoire at the initiative of the Ministries of Culture of France and West Germany.
1980Taught printmaking at the School of Fine Arts of Abidjan; conducted seminars for professors from the Schools of Fine Arts of Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and Mali; installation of new printmaking workshops for West Africa.
1980Participation in the BBK Berlin calendar with two works.
1980Three works acquired by the State Collection of Berlin.
1980August: Family vacation in Greece (Tinos, Crete).

The record of Mathèos Florakis’ artistic activity, although extensive, remains incomplete. In a biographical note written in 1980 he states that up to that time he had “organized more than 60 solo exhibitions in Greece, France, Germany, West Berlin, Switzerland and Austria,” and that his works are held in numerous private collections in North and South America, Australia, South Africa and Western Europe, as well as in several museums. Among the museums mentioned are Kunsthaus Aargau (Switzerland), Karl-Ernst Osthaus Museum Hagen (West Germany), and the Graphothek in West Berlin. He also notes that works acquired through state purchases are located in various cities in West Germany, Austria, and France.
